First run of schedule & results

Well they said do 20 mins and I’ve done it! Woo Hoo… power to the people. Even getting late home from work at 9pm and mustering the will-power to get running. missing my tea. Everyone's a winner even the beer belly.

Ok I had a little motivation as I was also testing out the two new toys. The Yamax sw200 digiwalker (under £14.99) and the TK 800 Polygon Pedometer (just under £9) Well what’s the craic. I’d used the digiwalker stepcounter all day from 7am to 9pm (run time) and it counted 5663 steps. On its little inbuilt chart my rough weight of 70kgs and 1000 steps to 1km 5.5km works out about 200kcal burned (hold the Burger (Boo) – not much for 5k).

In comparsion, what seems a digital super deluxe version is the TK800 on which donated to me and ran out of battery on day one! Now I know why its given for Free! Costing me £2.19 from maplin (you need a super silver oxide 1.55v(389x) model…) was only used on the 20 min run. Thankfully, this little baby has a clock on it and not being a watch wearer its useful – and great to know running round the Mystery was 20 mins flat(scrapping inside the 20-30min run schedule). The TK800 calculated 3173 steps, says that was a disappointing 1.8 miles burning 150kcal (this is under £9 and by far the more useful over the Yamax, as its all on screen).

For the same run the Yamax digiwalker calculated 8827 minus the 5603 about 2200 steps – mmmh a lot of difference, any how, Yamax totalled 8.8km at a min for the day 300kcal burnt. Well that’s it, shaky hands mean time to relax. Roll on the Ormskirk 10k in September at this rate 60 plus mins. I ran it 45mins, 10 years ago so lets see!
