Thanks for your interest in Polygon’s new training blog. We would you be delighted to help your team provide you with resources, we will be inviting online personal trainers to help track your training and help prepare for any big walks, races and cycle rides you have coming up!
In exchange for this we would like you to tell us about how you are getting on and how effective your training schedule is? What we really would like to know now is what races you may be training for and get updates from you periodically as you train. You can do this by emailing: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Schedules for Runners:
If you want to put a training schedule together online for a distance race and email through to me. I’ve used:
http://www.taketothestreets.org/
Take to the streets offer a range of plans but suggest 12 to 16 weeks is the minimum. They also only have two levels of running beginner to intermediate. Your weight (72kg), Heart rate (BPM) (70) and age (33) are considered (not sure if this actually changes the schedules - i did try) and produced these you can download:
If you are looking for something a little more in depth have look at these.
If you’re just getting started or an intermediate runner. These plans from runner’s world work well:
